What can I do to remove a rip off report on Google’s first page

Getting a negative listing on sites like rip off report can happen to the most upstanding companies and individuals. All it takes is 15 minutes and anybody can slander your online reputation for the world to see.

On most of these complaint sites, anybody can claim they have gotten ripped off by companies and individuals while remaining comfortably anonymous.. Even if you can prove that the allegations are incorrect, the webmasters will not remove those listings.

Having a negative listing rank on the first page is a very disturbing situation Most of the time you will not have a clue as to who posted this negative listing. Are you dealing with an angry client?- Or many an employee or competitor? What comes natural is to immediately send a rebuttal and respond to these allegations on those forums. In most cases a response is the worst thing you can do.

Here is why: The more you interact with these sites the higher the chances are that you inflame the situation. There have been attempts made to force these sites to take down the negative listing with a lawsuit. However, these sites argue that they are only providing a platform and are not to be held responsible for the content that is being hosted on those sites.

By responding to the post you are increasing the amount of user generated content and activity on this thread. Search Engines like Google look at this increased activity as in important indicator that this URL might be important and list the listing higher on search engines. Google in particular considers this posting as a sign that there is an interest in this article. Furthermore there is a probability that the other party will reply to your comments, which increases the amount of comments and activity even further.

Removing a rip off report?

The sad truth is that you cannot actually delete the negative listing. Even if the person who posted the article decides to delete the listing. Some of these complaint sites even post your inquiry to the administrator online.

If I can’t remove a ripoff report, what can I do?
It is possible to remove a Rip Off Report from the top pages on Google and other relevant search engines. We do this by implementing a two step process.

First 1: We start by developing various positive URL’s. Those listings come in the form of small sites, business profiles, article syndications and press releases, as a way to fill the top pages on Google and other search engines and remove the ripoff report from the first page. In many cases this strategy by itself requires an additional step in order to remove the ripoff report from the top on Search Engines. The new listings need to be promoted so they out rank and push down the rip off report.

Second 2: In about 8 weeks many of the new URL’s should start to rank in the first pages on Google. Depending on the keyword competitiveness some of them have already surpassed the rip off report and essentially pushed the listing downward. However, In order to remove the rip off report from the first page on Search Engines we promote listings that are below the rip off report. As these URL’s over rank the rip off report we target a new set of positive listings that are not yet above the rip off report until the negative listings have been replaced by positive URL’s that you now control.
